Keep Your Vehicle Looking Its Best with Cleaning and Detailing
Why Get Your Car Detailed?
There's nothing like the look and smell of a new car – the gleaming paintwork, the spotless upholstery, the chrome that shines like a new dime. Unfortunately, it doesn't last. Kids, pets, mud puddles, and life, in general, get in the way.
There is a solution: detailing. Think of it as the ultimate in car cleaning, where both the inner and outer surfaces of your vehicle are revitalized and protected. Paintwork, upholstery, trim, tires, carpets, windows, chrome and plastic are meticulously cleaned and polished, after which a protective sealant is applied to keep them looking that way.

Protect Your Vehicle
Houghton offers paint protection for all budgets. Our paint protections will protect from acid rain, bird droppings, and road tar and will keep your vehicle looking new.
How Exactly Will Acid Rain Affect Your Vehicle?
As it rains, the acidic droplets collect on your vehicle’s surface. When the water evaporates, the acid eats into the paint surface. The process escalates significantly when the sun heats the droplets and the paint. Three levels of damage are possible from acid rain including mild, severe, and irreparable. The depth to which the acid rain has etched the painted surface determines the severity of the damage.

Don’t Let Rust Eat Away At Your Vehicle – Rust-Proof It!
What Causes Rust on Your Vehicle?
The moment your vehicle meets the light of day, rust attacks. Water and oxygen alter the chemical composition of the metal in your car, and this opens the door to corrosion and rust.
Don't fool yourself into thinking that winter road salt alone is the enemy. Snow, sun, acid rain, rock chips, scratches, and car washes are also to blame. It's just a matter of time.
The Benefits of Rust-Proofing
Rust-proofing protects your car against this damage. After all, for most of us, a vehicle is a major purchase, and most manufacturer's warranties cover only factory defects. Why let rust take a bite out of your investment?
Stay Cool in the Summer with Window Tinting from Houghton
Over the years, window tinting has become far more popular. Houghton’s exclusive films will help protect your vehicle both inside and out. Their films are made of the highest quality materials and installed by factory trained technicians. Whether you’re looking to reduce your vehicle temperature or protect your family from harmful UV rays, Houghton is a leader in automotive window film installation.
Window tinting helps keep a car cool during the hot summer months. Studies have shown that it can block up to 65 percent of the solar energy hitting your windows. And in an age of ozone depletion and UV warnings, tinted windows block nearly all UV rays entering your vehicle. This not only prevents fading of its interior but also helps reduce glare and squinting.

Window films help alleviate sun-damaging effects, by blocking up to 99% of UV rays and reflecting up to 80% of the sun's heat.
What's more, SUN-GARD enhances the look of any vehicle or building, while providing energy-saving comfort in hot summers and cold winters.

The 3M Scotch Guard benefits the vehicle’s look and value in a number of ways:
Everything Automotive By Houghton provides 3M Headlight Lens Restoration. This restoration can help improve visibility, safety, and the overall appearance of your vehicle. Most modern vehicles are made with plastic headlights in order to reduce weight and withstand accident impact. However as the years pass plastic headlights can yellow and dull, compromising visibility especially at night. Protect your vehicle and your passengers by restoring your vehicle’s headlights with 3M Headlight Lens Restoration System.

Recommendations for Fall Inspection to Prepare for Winter Car
Care experts at Houghton recommend carrying out a “protection inspection” in early fall to prepare vehicles for winter’s damaging elements. Houghton is a Provincial leader in automotive aftermarket services and accessories, and we recommend several measures that drivers can use to “winterize” vehicles, protecting them from salt, snow, and mud:
Wash the Vehicle Regularly
High-Quality Sealants – Protect Exterior Surfaces
In order to protect your vehicle’s exterior surfaces, sealants are necessary. Winter slush, salt, and other grit are especially abrasive to your vehicle. Protect the painted surfaces with a high-quality paint sealant. Make sure to wash and dry the vehicle thoroughly before applying sealant to prevent scratching the paint.
Repair and Repaint Exterior Scratches, Dents and Stone Chips
To avoid possible surface rust, it's best to repair and repaint exterior scratches, dents or stone chips immediately. Consult an automotive parts supplier for the correct colour match. If your vehicle has been in an accident, make sure to have any repaired or replacement sheet metal professionally rust protected before operating the vehicle. Houghton says the vehicle owner’s manual also provides a good checklist for protection and maintenance procedures. Houghton notes that salt is a car’s worst enemy during the winter.
According to the Salt Institute, an average of about 15 million tons of salt is used to de-ice slippery roads in the United States every winter. Salt can cause your vehicle to corrode easily. Despite many improvements in vehicle design and galvanized sheet metal, vehicles will rust when their iron or steel parts are exposed to salt and water.
“The only sure defence against corrosion of a vehicles seams and body panels is an aftermarket rust protection application,” Houghton says. “Professional rust protection application and warranties should cover all body panels and structures prone to rust-especially the hidden areas.”
